Our Story
Adventure Acres Foundation was created to reconnect people with nature through stewardship, outdoor learning, and community-based restoration projects in Southern Colorado.
We believe long-term stewardship starts with small, intentional actions: planting, teaching, restoring, and creating spaces where people can experience the natural world up close.
About Our Founder — Justin Lake Whedon
Justin Lake Whedon is a designer, strategist, and longtime outdoor enthusiast based in Southern Colorado. After more than 25 years working in the digital world, he founded Adventure Acres Foundation to help reconnect people with land through stewardship, outdoor learning, and community-based environmental projects.
A passionate hiker and photographer, Justin has spent years exploring trails throughout Colorado and the American West. Those experiences shaped his belief that conservation becomes stronger when people develop a direct relationship with the places around them.
🌱 Our Vision
To build spaces and programs where people can learn, grow, and connect — with each other and with the land — through stewardship, education, and regenerative design.
🎯 Our Mission
Adventure Acres Foundation exists to engage people in caring for land through education, stewardship, and community projects so that both ecosystems and communities can thrive together.
